Hyderabad – Second Wi-Fi Enabled City in India

Wifi in Hyderabad City:

After Calcutta- the capital city of West  Bengal the Hyderabad city (Capital of Telangana State) will be second fully Wi-Fi enabled city in India.

What Government Officials Said?

I.T Minister Sri K.T Rama Rao reviewed the Hyderabad WiFi service soon to be launched by the BSNL (Bhartiya Sanchar Nigam Limited) – QuadGen on a pilot basis nearby the Hussain Sagar area.

WiFi Enabled Areas:

BSNL-QuadGen representatives have explained about the arrangements which are being made to launch the WiFi service as soon as possible. The service would be available in areas nearby the Hussain Sagar like Tank Bund, Lumbini Park, and Necklace Road. Nearly 1800-2500 people can use the service at a time. A radius of approximately 10 Km would be covered in this pilot phase.

 

The speed of WiFi and Limitations:

The WiFi service will be free for initial 30 minutes. The speeds would be between 2 Mbps to 20 Mbps. The IT Minister suggested that BSNL-QuadGen should give top priority towards providing seamless internet connectivity.

GHMC Commissioner Sri Somesh Kumar and IT Secretary Sri Harpreet Singh were also present in the meeting.

Even though already free WiFi was already available in the some of the areas of Hyderabad like Madhapur, HiTech city etc but the government has taken the step to provide the free WiFi all over the city.

Conclusion:

Arvind Kejriwal the Chief Minister of Delhi has also promised about the Free WiFi in Delhi, already the Calcutta has free WiFi but let us see who provides free WiFi first whether Arvind Kejriwal from Aam Aadmi Party or the Mr.Kalvakuntla ChandraShekhar Rao (KCR) from TRS (Telangana Rashtra Samithi Party)
