Goa Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Elections

Goa Legislative Assembly election, 2017 Vidhan sabha, will be held in early 2017, this assembly consists of 40 members or 40 seats of the Goa Legislative Assembly, as the term of current Legislative Assembly ends on March 18, 2017. As the Lok sabha elections and the municipal corporation elections have 5 years of term in the same way Vidhan sabha also have 5 years of term. The last Assembly elections were conducted in Goa state was 2012 and the five year term is about to end and so the elections to be conducted.

There is no official notification about dates of elections from EC, any how all the political parties are trying their best to win these elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), Indian National Congress (INC), Goa Vikas Party (GVP), Maharashtrawadi Gomantak (MAG) and even other parties including independent candidates. As this is the first time AAP contesting Assembly elections in Goa where-as BJP emerged as the largest party in last elections 2012.
